2026.08.07
■ Canadian IND submission completed... Scope of clinical development expanded to North America following Australia and Hong Kong
■ Professor Natasha Leighl of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to participate as PI... Strengthening global clinical network

Voronoi (310210) announced on the 7th that it has submitted an IND (clinical trial plan) to Health Canada for the global Phase 1b/2 clinical trial of VRN11, its next-generation EGFR targeted therapy.

With this Canadian IND submission, Voronoi expands the global clinical development of VRN11 to North America. VRN11 is already in Phase 1b/2 clinical trials in Australia, Hong Kong, and elsewhere, and the company is proceeding with country-specific procedures to expand the global clinical trial in major countries including Canada.

In particular, the Canadian trial will be conducted at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of Canada's leading cancer institutions, with Professor Natasha Leighl, an authority in the field of lung cancer clinical research, participating as Principal Investigator (PI). Professor Leighl is the head of thoracic medical oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and a professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, and is an internationally recognized researcher in lung cancer treatment strategies and new drug development who has participated in numerous global lung cancer clinical trials.

The Canadian trial will evaluate the efficacy and safety of VRN11 in both treatment-naïve patients with EGFR mutation non-small cell lung cancer and patients whose disease has progressed after treatment with existing EGFR targeted therapies.

Daekwon Kim, CEO of the Research Division of Voronoi, said, "With this Canadian IND submission, we have expanded the global clinical development of VRN11 to North America, following Australia and Hong Kong. In particular, we expect that the participation of Professor Natasha Leighl of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre will further strengthen our clinical development network with world-class lung cancer experts."

He added, "We will secure clinical data across diverse patient groups, from treatment-naïve patients to those who have undergone prior treatment, and continue to demonstrate VRN11's competitiveness as a next-generation EGFR targeted therapy."
